Safahat is a coffee bar and bakehouse created to recharge you – we provide freshly baked goods, delicious drinks, and killer coffee to keep you in a powerful state of mind.

A coffee bar and bakehouse located in the state-of-the-art Qatar National Library, Safahat caters to knowledge-hungry library visitors that are looking for productive and stimulating experiences.

We believe that knowledge = progress.

To drive ourselves and our communities forward, we must find innovative solutions to today’s problems, all the while preserving our heritage and our memories. That is why Safahat was created to fuel & protect.

We aim to nourish our brains with the fuel we need for focus, inspiration, and alertness. We took a research-driven approach to creating the Safahat menu, making sure to support robust brain function and overall health with nutrient rich recipes and prime ingredients.

O u r / I n s p i r a t i o n

Taking the library setting within the young but quickly progressing nation of Qatar as our jumping board, we designed the space to feature architectural elements that mimic a crumpled page. Part of progress is constant ideation and drafting – facing the fear of failure with courage and determination. Hence, we created the “wall of experience,” to remind us that creative process is just as important as the glorious end product.

When creating the Safahat brand, we took inspiration from the Arabic process of “tashkeel,” whereby words are given diacritical marks to indicate their meaning and pronunciation. The Safahat visual brand uses “tashkeel” to allude to stacks of books and linguistic play.

Stimulate your mind, activate your taste buds, and protect your health at the Safahat coffee bar. We treat the kitchen like a laboratory, taking all our experiments very seriously. Each item on the Safahat coffee bar menu was carefully crafted by taking our time and paying lots of attention to detail. We’ve created unique coffee concoctions such as the all-natural rainbow latte and the charcoal & turmeric latte to keep your day moving forward, charging you up with carefully crafted juices, nut milks, teas, and frozen drinks.
